Child Counselling

Child counselling is a type of therapy that focuses on helping children and adolescents address and cope with various emotional and behavioural issues. Child counselling can be beneficial for children who may be experiencing difficulties at home or at school, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, or behavioural problems.

Child counselling is typically conducted by a trained mental health professional who specializes in working with children and adolescents, such as a child psychologist, child therapist, or child counsellor. The counsellor may use a variety of therapeutic techniques to help the child, such as play therapy, art therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), or family therapy.

The goal of child counselling is to provide a safe and supportive environment for children to express their feelings and learn new coping strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour. Through counselling, children can develop a better understanding of themselves and their experiences, improve their communication skills, and develop positive relationships with others.

It’s important to note that child counselling is a collaborative process that involves the child, their parents, and the counsellor. Parents are often involved in the counselling process to help support their child and reinforce the skills they are learning in therapy.
